Shuksan

At 10,778 feet in elevation, it is the most isolated of the Cascade volcanoes.  Mt. At 9,131 feet Mount Shuksan exerts a strong attraction for climbers drawn to its wilderness slopes and rugged beauty.  A dramatic, virtually year-round snow and ice route and an appeaing glacier climb are both recommended climbs on Mt. Shuksan, one of the most beautiful mountains in the Cascades.  The massive and complex mountain whose handsome profile from Picture Lake has become a frequent photographic "clich`" offers no less than five rugged faces, with four of them commonly climbed.
